Research Assistant – Clinical Research Coordinator

        Location: MGH Sleep Center,

MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Boston, US

The Purdon Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Boston is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine.

The primary work locations are at MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and MGH Sleep Center; this position requires on-site data collection with an elderly population and is approximately 50% remote during the SARS-CoV2 pandemic. The CRC position is available immediately and provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to conduct multimodal neuroimaging research using neuropsychological testing, electroencephalography (EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The successful candidate will join the collaborative scientific community at MGH and learn to apply advanced imaging techniques and state of the art signal processing tools in clinical neuroscience.

The principal duties are focused on an ongoing project investigating the quantitative relationships between sleep and Alzheimer's disease. The candidate's role will be a member of the sleep research team responsible for subject recruitment and screening, cognitive task administration, and data collection of EEG, MRI, and PET imaging measures. Daily tasks after a structured training process will require clear communication with aging populations, applying high-density EEG montages for overnight recording sessions, and proficient use of data preprocessing tools (e.g., FreeSurfer). The successful candidate will participate and lead research and project meetings in the Purdon Lab and interact with a diverse team of engineers, clinicians, and scientists. This CRC position offers an extensive neuroscience research experience that well prepares team members for future careers in human clinical research.

Applicant's should have a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, psychology or a related field. Previous research experience (1-2 years) is important, and experience in collecting and analyzing EEG and/or MRI data is strongly valued. A minimum of two-year commitment is required. Candidates with strong teamworking skills and passion for multimodal neuroimaging research will be preferred.

Interested candidates should review the official job posting and directly send their CV + references to Akriti Pandit (apandit1@mgh.harvard.edu). Consideration of applications will start as they are received.
