Free speech and expression have been an ongoing theme of this series from Bias Incident Support Services about how to navigate and amplify the needs of marginalized members within the UMD community. For this panel, BISS and panelists will attempt to unpack the ways in which systems often create barriers or challenges for effective activism. They will also discuss how free speech and expression can be used to empower changes in culture and policy over time, sustaining efforts beyond the performative and toward the transformative.
