We are interested in adding 6 new ambassadors to our growing team to serve during the full 2023 Calendar Year (Spring 2023- Fall 2023).
Requirements to Apply:
Must be a current Neuroscience Major
Must have at least 2 semesters left at UMD
At least a 2.7 cumulative GPA
Passionate about creating community
Strong communication skills
Creative thinking
Enthusiasm and initiative
Ability to work effectively in groups and individually
Responsibilities Include:
Meet with the NEUR Director of Undergraduate Studies as student advisory committee to voice ideas and concerns on behalf of the larger NEUR student body every semester
Participate in recruitment initiatives for prospective students
Help host and plan community building events
Create and help with updating content for social media/blog/website
Participate in bi-weekly ambassador team meetings
Meet 1:1 with prospective and current students to give student centered advice
Manage the shared Neuroscience Student Ambassador email account
Commit to 5-10 hours per semester of service outside of monthly meetings
Other task/duties may be developed as the program matures
Students who apply may be contacted to conduct a short interview in early-February. Those who are offered a role as a Neuroscience Student Ambassador can expect to attend a short training in February.
