Impacts of widespread water outage

 

Due to a water main break, there is a widespread water outage on campus causing many buildings to have no water or extremely low water pressure. Crews are working to isolate the leak and restore pressure.

Out of an abundance of caution, the affected academic and administrative buildings listed below will be closed today. No classes will be physically held in the affected buildings. Students with classes in these buildings will receive updates from faculty. Faculty and staff who work in these facilities should plan to work from home today.

Please read the following important updates closely: Faculty: If you have classes in the affected buildings, please use your discretion to transition to online classes. Please communicate directly with your students with alternative arrangements for your classes. McKeldin, Art and Architecture libraries are closed. The University Health Center is closed; appointments are moving to telemedicine. The Counseling Center will operate on a limited basis with walk-ins and telehealth appointments. Accessibility and Disability Service will move to remote appointments but the Testing Office will remain open. Residents of affected halls are receiving updates directly from Residential Facilities. South Campus Dining Hall remains open, but will provide further updates if service is interrupted. Thank you for your patience as we work to restore water pressure to our campus.

The buildings listed below may have little water pressure to no water (Note: If a building is not on this list, it remains unaffected by the water outage. Normal operations continue, including in-person classes):
