Hello Neuroscience majors!
We hope you had a restful break and are ready for the spring semester! As a reminder, the Neuroscience Advising Office is located in suite 1107 in the Biology-Psychology building (BPS). If you are familiar with the building, we are on the first floor, adjacent to the Psychology office. We will be open during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm throughout the academic year. Our staff is not available for appointments outside of this time frame and you should not expect responses to emails in the evenings or over the weekend.
Schedule Adjustment Period Advising Appointments: Members of the Neuroscience Team will be available for Drop-In Advising during selected business hours, Monday through Friday in the Neuroscience Advising Suite during the Schedule Adjustment Period* January 24 - February 6). Students will be seen on a first come, first serve basis, and it is okay if you do not meet with your specific advisor. Please note: These meetings are meant to be brief, and should last approximately 10-15 minutes.
Schedule Adjustment Period Drop-In Advising should be used to for questions/concerns about:
- Your Spring 2024 schedule and classes
Academic policies on grading method, add/drop/withdraw
Campus resources
Signatures on campus forms
High Credit Load requests**
Graduation plan review
Mandatory advising
Study abroad
Requesting letters of recommendation
If you have extenuating circumstances and require a virtual meeting, please email neuradvising@umd.edu with your request. Be sure to include your name, UID, and preferred meeting days and times.
**Please email your assigned advisor directly to discuss High Credit Load requests (over 17 credits) for the spring semester.
Advisors will resume General Advising appointments beginning the week of February 12th.
You will receive detailed information regarding Mandatory Advising appointments around the end of February/early March.
