The University of Maryland, Baltimore offers an inter–disciplinary program of study leading to a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience. The program offers research training in a wide range of brain sciences, including Cellular, Molecular and Integrative Neuroscience. Program faculty consists of approximately 100 neuroscientists who investigate a wide range of issues, at levels ranging from ion channels and single cells to complex subsystems of the mammalian brain and regulation of behavior.
Students accepted into the Neuroscience program are guaranteed financial support for the duration of their studies. Stipends are competitive nationwide ($34,325 per year) and increase as the student advances. In addition to annual stipends, students receive health care coverage, tuition remission, and student fee coverage.
