The University of St Andrews offers a 1 year Masters of Research (MRes) in Neuroscience program. The program provides students with opportunity to do a year of intensive research in a lab while living by the sea in Scotland. Link to application portal is below.

Admissions policies are open minded. Previous experience doing research is not required. Applicants from and/all STEM disciplines welcome. No standardized tests required. Applicants from diverse backgrounds encouraged. Scholarship opportunities are available.
It’s worth noting that their alumni have a very high success rates when applying for PhD program and/or Med Schools, both in the US and overseas. Students also regularly publish in JUNE on their own, without faculty co-authors.
