Call for proposals: Vital Signs mini-grants
It’s time for the 2025-26 round of Vital Signs: Creative Arts for Black Lives Mini-Grants!
Five mini-grants of $500-$1,000 USD each will be awarded to individual UMD student artists and UMD student organizations who are creating artistic and creative projects that explore Black life and vitality. Mini-grant funds are intended to support costs associated with the development of these projects. All students are welcome to apply!

Hear from a panel of first-gen Terps
Join the University of Maryland Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) for the First Generation Terps Panel. Connect with inspiring first-generation Terp alums as they share their journeys navigating college and beyond.
Panelists include Ume Habiba ’24, Joe Levin-Manning, MBA ’17, and Norka Padilla ’87. The program will begin with remarks from Alethia N. Nancoo ’90, M.Ed. ’92, Alumni Association Board of Governors Member, and will be moderated by Urszula Cieslak ’26, SALC Vice President of Alumni Programming.
