The Summer Language Institute at UMD is offering an intensive language study opportunity that may be useful for BSOS students. Through the Summer Language Institute, students can gain a year's worth of language study (10 credits) in just 9 weeks. This is a great option for students who need to complete language requirements but have busy schedules during the Fall and Spring semesters.
This summer, SLI will be offering a hybrid program with in-person and virtual courses for Arabic, Korean, and Persian. Students can take Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced level courses. Scholarships are available to students who apply by the April 17th Priority Deadline. The final deadline to apply is May 15, 2026.
