Professor O'Keefe, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London, Inaugural Director of the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and the Kavli Prize in Neuroscience in 2014 for his cognitive neuroscience research that was critical to revealing its importance for spatial memory and navigation, the loss of which is prominent in Alzheimer's disease and other disorders.
The discussion will be moderated by Emmy Award-winning journalist Frank Sesno, the Director of Strategic Initiatives at George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs.
