Become a CMNS or BSOS Ambassador

CMNS Ambassadors

We are specifically looking for students from IMDM, CMSC, CHEM, BCHM, MATH, and NEUR majors. Ambassadors help prospective freshmen and transfers learn more about why UMD is a great place to study CMNS! CMNS recruitment ambassadors assist with student panels and CMNS information tables at admissions open houses, meet individually with prospective students, sit on virtual Zoom panels, and act as class visit hosts for prospective freshmen. Typical time commitment for this volunteer position is one hour a week. The best ambassadors can easily express what they love about UMD, whether or not it was their original first choice college when they applied as high school students (or transfer students). Applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 by email to egarosi@umd.edu.

BSOS Ambassadors

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences offers students an opportunity to become involved in our college while earning two (2) elective credits. This experience will teach you skills that will ultimately make you more marketable to employers and graduate programs. Additionally, being a BSOS Ambassador provides excellent leadership, public speaking, and teaching experience, as well as networking opportunities with faculty, staff, alumni, university administrators, and prospective students.

The required seminar course meets once a week on Thursdays from 4:00-4:50 pm, so make sure your schedule allows.
