Celebrate International Education Week 2022
at UMD Nov. 14-18!
From Nov. 14-18, UMD will join education institutions across the U.S. and around the world in celebrating International Education Week 2022 (#IEW2022). A joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of Education and State inaugurated by President Clinton in 2000, IEW aims to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to the U.S. to study, learn, and exchange their knowledge and experiences.
#IEW2022 provides a platform to celebrate the international diversity and global engagement that contribute to UMD’s vibrance and excellence. It is also a chance to highlight humanity’s interconnectedness and the importance of global collaboration and connection for addressing the grand challenges of our time.
This year, in keeping with UMD’s Fearlessly Forward strategic plan, OIA is launching Global Dialogues, in collaboration with campus and international partners. Global Dialogues are events and activities--both during IEW and going forward--that will engage UMD students in conversation and reflection around our shared global grand challenges.
