 Job Announcement: Post-Bacc for Pharmacodynamics Lab at NIH (NCI)

The Pharmacodynamics Lab at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Cancer Institute (NCI), is currently seeking a highly motivated Post-Bacc to join our team. Our lab conducts clinical trials to investigate the effects of cancer therapy drugs on patients. As a Post-Bacc, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of cancer biology.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a biology related field (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, or Cancer Biology)
  • Demonstrated interest in immunology, cell biology, or cancer biology
  • Experience working in a wet lab setting is preferred, especially with work in flow cytometry and processing human blood samples
  • Basic knowledge in R or Python
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments in a wet lab setting
  • Procure tissue biopsy samples from the IR/OR occasionally 
  • Process human blood samples and perform flow cytometry assays
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and manuscripts
  • Maintain laboratory records and inventories
  • Participate in laboratory meetings and present research findings
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time position, onsite at the Bethesda campus, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm, with occasional need to come in early or stay late. The start date would be sometime in the summer (July/August).
